Support Puerto Rico. Thank you!

So much gratitude! Yesterday's class was amazing! To each and every person who donated, prayed, or supported it--thank you! Friends, the $1000 we raised is so needed in Puerto Rico. You have done an amazing work to help stand with our brothers and sisters!

I am not naturally a fundraiser or event planner, but my mother taught me very early that we change the world not by grandiose acts, but by the small acts of love that we take the time to show daily. If what you see in the world bothers you, change it--no matter how big or small you think it is.

The rebuilding process in PR is going to last a long time, so please think about ways you may want to help next time around.

Thank you ArtInspired Ballroom, Knead to Heal, Snatch'd Brazilian Wax & Sugaring, and Ocean Storage (Yorktown, VA).

We are honored and consider it a privilege to serve with you all to be the change we wish to see in the world.

For almost a year, La Isla de Encanta (Puerto Rico) was our primary home. The breathtaking island with her salty, warm air, turquoise waters, and amazing people welcomed us like family. We still consider it our second home and travel back and forth frequently. Our hearts ache for our friends and family there.

After Hurricanes Irma and Maria, all of Puerto Rico is without the basics; the things we take for granted. The entire island is without lights, most have no water, and many (including some of our closest friends) have no phone service or basic ways to communicate their needs and/or safety to others. Homes have been destroyed or severely damaged and the threat of flooding is still real. Some of our friends were still dealing with the damage from Irma when Maria came. Power lines and trees are laying in the streets and many roads are not passable. In fact, the area where our studio was is almost unrecognizable.

But God is faithful. And the people of Puerto Rico are resilient, creative, resourceful, and spirited. They have God and He has given them many resources, including human help-- fellow brothers and sisters stateside to be both with them and for them. So let’s be His hands and feet!

We are inviting you to link arms with us as we raise money for disaster relief in Puerto Rico. On Sunday, October 1 at 3:00 pm, Be One Yoga will be hosting a donation based yoga class. In this class, we will breathe, move, and pray in honor of our Puerto Rican brothers and sisters. All proceeds will go to Healing Hands International, United for Puerto Rico, and local churches in Puerto Rico.

If you can’t make it, but would like to donate please send a payment through Paypal to thebeonelife@gmail.com
